Sustainable Wood Solutions CIC was formed from a project seeking to source a local timber supply for Glasgow MET College from Glasgow City Council owned woodland and parks.
During this project it became clear how much timber was produced within Glasgow, that most was being sent to landfill and yet there was a strong and growing demand for locally sourced timber.
Sustainable Wood Solutions CIC was launched in November 2009 with financial support from UnLtd, an organisation set up to develop ideas for social enterprise.
